Below is a checklist which will enable you to assess your website’s current status and identify where improvements can be made based on some of the principles covered in the eBook. The checklist focuses on your website as a whole looking at the conversion elements as well as focusing on specific pages to rate the content.

Your website:

The ratings scale for you to use to measure your website’s performance is explained below:

1= Not good, needs rework
2= Needs minor tweaks
3= It’s ok
4= It’s pretty good
5= Excellent

I have a clear value proposition.

I have testimonials, awards, certifications or other proof of credibility.

My content is interesting and relevant to my target audience and it speaks their language.

It’s easy for customers to sign up or purchase my product/service.

My navigation is clear and easy to use with links to the most important/relevant pages.

My CTA’s are clear, stand out and are placed appropriately through my website.

My contact details are readily available.

I have Google Analytics installed on my website complete with goal tracking.

I track and monitor my conversion rate to measure my websites performance.

Now let’s examine the content on two key pages of the website – your home page and your services pages or a recent blog page.
We want you to objectively rate the content on the factors as outlined below.

Would you trust the information presented on the webpage?

Does an expert or enthusiast who knows the topic well write the content; or is it shallower in nature?

Does the site have duplicate, overlapping, or redundant articles on the same or similar topics with slightly different keyword variations on the same site or other pages in search results?

Do genuine interests of readers of the site drive the topics, or does the site generate content by attempting to guess what might rank well in search engines?

Does the article provide original content or information, original reporting, original research, or original analysis?

Does the article describe both sides of a story?

Is the site a recognized authority on its topic or is the site considered an authoritative source?

Does this article contain insightful analysis or interesting information that is beyond obvious?

Is this the sort of page you’d want to bookmark, share with a friend, or recommend?
